God morning! This is Ellmer Stefan writing, Austrian-born type designer, graphic artist and visual poet living and working in Oslo, Norway. My work is centered around the manifold manifestations of writing, lettering and typography with particular focus on their cultural, historical, and technological contexts.

I solo-run The Pyte Foundry, an independent type foundry offering retail and bespoke typeface design, lettering and logotypes.

Alongside my practice, I am Assistant Professor and Researcher at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, where I teach handwriting, lettering, calligraphy, type design and typography. My current research is focused on asemic writing as well as lettering practice as a "complementary antidote" to typographic design.
