Ellmer Stefan (*1982) is an Austrian-born type designer, graphic artist and visual poet living and working in Oslo, Norway. He solo-runs The Pyte Foundry, an independent type foundry offering retail and bespoke typeface design, lettering and logotypes.

Alongside his practice, he is Assistant Professor and Researcher at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, where he teaches handwriting, calligraphy, lettering, type design and typography. His current research is focused on asemic writing as well as lettering practice as a "complementary antidote" to typographic design.
